Drone Football Competition Rules

Two teams consisting of remotely controlled drones compete against each other in a 3 vs. 3 format.

  • The competition field is 6 meters long, 3 meters wide, and 3 meters high, and is fully enclosed with protective netting for safety.
  • One goal ring is positioned at each of the two short ends of the field.
  • Each team consists of three active drones, one of which is designated as the Striker Drone.
  • A goal is awarded only when the Striker Drone passes completely through the opposing team’s goal ring.
  • Each match consists of two periods of 3 minutes each. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins.

Age Groups and Eligibility

The competition is open to participants of all ages, regardless of experience or technical skill level.

If deemed necessary by the Competition Committee and Jury, participants may be divided into separate age groups and evaluated within their respective divisions.

Note: Participation in this category is subject to a fee of €100 per team/robot.


Organization Rules

  1. The competition and testing fields shall be prepared using the same materials and specifications.
  2. All drones intended to participate in the competition must be registered in advance. The registration process includes a technical inspection of the drone. Following successful inspection, an identification label will be attached to the drone and its competition/order number will be assigned.
  3. The technical inspection must be completed within the time period specified by the organizers.
  4. Any questions, technical issues, or disputes arising during the competition shall be addressed by the referee.
  5. In the event of an objection or dispute, the final decision shall be made by the referee and/or the organizers. All complaints must be submitted to the referee during the match or immediately after the match has ended. Complaints submitted at a later time will not be considered.

    In the event of any disagreement, inconsistency, or uncertainty regarding the interpretation of the rules, the Head Referee shall have final decision-making authority.


Application and Final Registration Procedures

  • Participants wishing to compete must pay the specified participation fee for each registered robot. Applications will not be approved until the required participation fee has been paid.
  • The Advisor Teacher / Team Mentor is responsible for reporting payments and confirming that payment approval has been received.
  • An acceptance and confirmation email will be sent to institutions or teams that have completed the registration form and payment process.
  • Final registration shall be considered complete on the date the registration fee payment is confirmed.
  • Applications are subject to limited capacity. A maximum quota of 20 teams per category has been established. Final registrations will be confirmed according to the Payment Confirmation Date.
  • Application deadlines and category quotas may be revised by the organizers when necessary.

Awards and Qualification

  • Students who place in the top three at Regional Competitions will receive a Certificate of Achievement and an Achievement Plaque.
  • Teams placing in the top three at Regional Competitions will receive a Special Jury Award and an invitation to the next-stage tournament. This achievement qualifies the teams to participate in the Fibonacci Robot Olympiad tournament in Antalya, which is open to international participation.
  • Teams placing in the top three at the Antalya tournament will receive a Special Jury Award and an invitation to the International Tournament / World Championship.
  • Qualified teams will earn the right to represent their country at the international Fibonacci International Robot Olympiad World Championship, held abroad.
